All Things Beautiful...Through My Kaleidoscope

Welcome to my page of reflections on the mandala art of Henry Reed. Long ago, I envisioned my writing as viewing life through my looking glass…my kaleidoscope. I love the way the picture changes, with each turn of the scope. Yet, it’s always unique and beautiful. After long enjoying Henry’s mandalas in my daily email, I discovered that, beyond looking at the artwork, I was feeling prompted to write words from my heart regarding what was going on in my life. I began my own daily affirmations, or reflections…and posting them here, beginning in August 2009. ~ Nov. 13, 2011, Henry completed his 7th year -- 2,556 mandala paintings -- thus completing a circle. A new one begins. Hope you'll tune in to watch what develops in this blog space of Henry Reed, SusanGail and ATB ~ It's a journey of intuitive heart.

MANDALA ART BY HENRY REED FROM ARCHIVES OF THE DAILY MANDALA

Note to visitors of All Things Beautiful...

Below you will see my reflections on The Daily Mandala from the archives, beginning with Nov. 13, 2004...progressing gradually onward to Nov. 13, 2007, when Henry concluded his seven-year series. To see the newest mandalas, scroll down the archives...to where I first began the reflections in 2009. So, I've a long way to go before I sleep, in these mandala woods, so lovely, dark and deep!

The Daily Mandala: February 28, 2010

Butterflies reverberate in my heart as I seek to set them free. New adventures are poised to take flight. Am I ready to fly? Fly, I must. There's no turning back. When I see the exquisite beauty of my dreams, I pull myself up to flight frequency...and soar once more.

The Daily Mandala: February 27, 2010

Magically, whimsically, the day opens before me. Awakening the creative spirit within me, my playful, positive thoughts travel spontaneously to faraway places, transporting me into fields of dreams and forests "where the wild things are." I can hardly wait to explore.

The sun shines on the darkest days. Beyond the clouds,
the warmth of rainbow love and light keeps me keeping on.
I can bask in this light anytime I choose. I can remember
my dreams. I can pick up my paintbrush and complete
the beautiful designs I discover in their landscape.

The Daily Mandala: February 23, 2010

My true colors, my ideals, are with me daily. I cannot escape them. I choose to wear them, as a sacred medallion of the heart. They point me always in the direction that is the most beautiful for my life journey.

In the midst of winter, when I peer through the lattice-work of my heart,
there is revealed an eternal springtime garden of light and beauty.
I need only to swing open the gate.

Through my kaleidoscope, all things are beautiful...
exquisitely placed, line upon line.
What a story I'm composing.

The Daily Mandala: February 18, 2010

I'm on vacation every day in my healing garden. As I learn to relax, my imagination can take me wherever I wish. Today, I'm gliding peacefully on a tropical river... in my canoe, drifting back to the future...at one with an ancient culture, yet creating beautiful memories of now.

Avatar: The moons of Pandora...a magical realm...
frame a window of crystal light,
where dreams are born. And all things are beautiful.
Love, light, laughter are reflected here in this world...within me.

The beauty of color shapes my life today.
I choose colors that make me feel good.
I appreciate the energy of color all across the spectrum.
I feel the waves of color in my heart...
glowing, encircling, flowing, coloring...me.

Today's the day. It's time to take the plunge...dive off the cliff...stop being afraid of my own
potential..and jump headlong into the vast sea of creativity that is bursting before me.
I see the light...there, at the center of my heart. There, I begin the journey.

The Daily Mandala: February 12, 2010

"I can see clearly now that the rain has gone...
 It's going to be a bright,bright, sun-shiny day!"
Yippee! I'm smiling again!
"Oh, what a beautiful morning; oh, what a beautiful day!"

The Daily Mandala: February 11, 2010

In the blizzards of wintertime, the intensity of creativity captures the density of endless snowscape. Burrowing down into the deepest reaches of my soul, ideas and insights come at frantic pace...though individual as a snowflake. I make note of them, thinking of spring gardens' potential and productivity.

No matter the depth of challenges I face,
no matter the pressures of relationships,
no matter the drifts of work piled high,
I see the cross in everything....and I give thanks.

The Daily Mandala: February 9, 2010

My mind sometimes feels so cluttered, packed and scrunched.
When frustrations occur, I know that if I'll loosen the grip,
open the windows, swing wide the doors, I'll focus less on
me and see the vision...still there, at the center...waiting for me
to just be...

The Daily Mandala: February 8, 2010

Like myriad colored shells clumped by ocean waves
on a tropical beach, woven strands of sea grass,
or bits of tunes from songs long ago
playing on the radio, the shards of my existence
form more than fragments. They're the beautiful
rainbow ribbons binding my life together...one day,
one experience at a time..and the artistry is beautiful.
